Avocado toast

I am obsessed with avocado toast lately. Although this recipe isn't super low carb, its full of many nutrients that fuel our bodies!

ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado, halved, pitted and peeled
  • Fine salt and black pepper
  • Whole grain/wheat bread slices
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Sea Salt

directions

  1. Cut the avocado in half, remove pit, and scoop into a bowl
  2. Season with salt and pepper
  3. Add lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and red pepper flakes
  4. Mash the ingredients with a fork, keeping the texture slightly chunky
  5. Toast bread to your liking (I personally like to grill the bread in a skillet with butter. If I am short on time I use the toaster)
  6. Top with red pepper flakes and sea salt to taste
