2019 has come and gone! If I had to describe the year in one word I would say “growth.” Not only did my business grow, friendships grew, but I also dealt with many hard times in private that lead me to grow for the better. I had so many exciting moments and I am excited to look back at my top 5 favorite moments of 2019 with you. Here we go!

Week with the Brzozoski's

This year I had the pleasure of meeting the Brzozowski family! Little Vivian lives with Type 1 and her and her family have been following me online since diagnosis. We have a lot in common, we love pink, unicorns, glitter, tutus and makeup! I spent a few days with the fam earlier in the year and had such a great time that I went back. I was only planning to stay 3 days but Houston was hit by tropical storm Imelda and we were all trapped. School was cancelled, roads were closed so I had to overstay at the Brzozoski’s and I’m so glad I did! We had such a great time. I felt like I became family. I played dress up and makeup with Vivian and Evelyn. I had cocktails and cooked with mom Sam. Talked life and diabetes with dad Jerry. I was meant to stay there and I had the best time. Now I’m going back again in Feb 2020!

Type One Nation- Dallas

In 2019 I traveled around to a few JDRF Type One Nation’s to do public speaking. I sat on some panels and also did my own sessions about relationships. Although I was happy to be at all the different Type One Nation’s, Dallas was extraordinary! It was so well done and it’s true…everything is bigger in Texas! It was a huge event at the Gaylord Texan. I had the opportunity to sit on a panel with other social media influencers and record a podcast with Rob Howe. Next, we all went to the teen room and did a Q & A with the teens! I had to leave the teen’s a little early because I was going to be doing Zumba with the little kids! It was a blast! I had so many amazing diabuddies come up to me and tell me they love following me online. It was such a well put together event! If you are in the Dallas area, I suggest you attend this year! If not, check out your local JDRF to see when your summit is taking place! Also Lee, one of my closest friends (who doesn’t live with diabetes), also joined me. We explored Dallas, went to the event and caught up on life.

30Th birthday

Not only is 30 a milestone birthday, but I welcomed my special day with my closest girlfriends! It was a girls only pool party! We had great food, great drinks and a great time! I wish I could relive that day over again! I think about that day and smile because all my amazing girlfriends joined me. Also, my friend Tracey welcomed us all with open arms. So thankful for all the amazing relationships I strengthened this year!

Traveling across the USA

I realized that this year I didn’t leave the country!( Well I did for a day to Mexico to buy insulin but that’s another story!) What I did do this year was get to know the USA better! Not only did I travel to New York twice, Orlando twice, LA twice, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Houston, Maine, San Francisco, and Boston/Cape Cod but I also took an extended road trip! All the cities listed above were for work but I extended my trips to explore. In September I decided to drive my little Fiat all the way from Phoenix to Louisiana. I stopped in every little city along the way. I explored wherever felt right. I had no plan and just booked hotel nights the day of. That’s when I went to Houston and got flooded in and I actually never made it to Louisiana. I had an amazing time in all these US cities. I can’t wait to see where 2020 takes me. So far I have a trip to Charlotte, NC booked. Also Orlando and Houston again!

Billboard in Times Square

Ok this is probably one of my favorite moments of the DECADE! I had the honor of representing Abbott Diabetes on my very own billboard in Times Square New York! This is not something I ever even imagined happening! I am a girl from a small town, I grew up on a chicken farm. How did I end up in Times Square?! Not only that, but Abbott is a brand I had dreamed of working with. Now I am in a long-term partnership with them and to have this moment be with them was so special!

I would love to hear your favorite moments of 2019! Keep up with my on Instagram to see what I am up to in 2020! Cheers!
