The Freestyle Libre is the newest FDA approved device to hit the USA market! I have seen so many of my European & Canadian followers using the Freestyle Libre for years now! I was always so intrigued and thought it could be the perfect glucose monitor for me. The second it was announced that it was approved in the United States, I immediately got in touch with Abbott to get my hands on this device! I was honored to be part of a group of influencers who received the Freestyle Libre before it hit the market! I was actually the first Latina in the United States to try it! I've been using this device since November 2017 and I have fallen in LOVE. This device is exactly what I was looking for. Here is a list of my likes and dislikes for the Freestyle Libre.
***If you are a Dexcom user, you are able to try the Freestyle Libre free of charge. Click here for the CGM Experience! Try the Freestyle Libre FREE This is my personal experience with the Freestyle Libre. Diabetes is not an easy disease but there are many devices on the market that can help with management. Please don't shame others for the devices they CHOOSE to use. We all have a choice when it comes to glucose monitors, meters, insulin brands, insulin pumps, injections and that is a beautiful thing! We can all choose what works for each individual! Hope you enjoyed this blog post! Also below are 2 videos about my experience with the Freestyle Libre and how I chose my insulin pump!

Really enjoyed this blog! Thank you for all the info. I'm highly considering in getting a pump;I'm currently on insulin injections and I check my blood sugar with a meter. My Endo recently told me she would introduce me to a CGM. But I'm definitely going to research my options. Thank You again for always being informative.

Loved this blog post! Actually I live in Egypt but I have a friend that gets me the censors every month and my censor actually takes 60 mins for warmup, idk y there’s a difference but I think because different countries maybe? And oh, there’s an app that’s already launched in a couple of countries idk if it launched in the USA yet or not. You can check out on their insta page. Have a good day/night! xoxo

Love the Libre, actually decided to go on it after seeing your youtube videos on it. Apparently they now have an app on your phone so you can swipe with your phone. I agree the reader is a bit annoying having to carry another meter/device. I also wish it could go elsewhere but at least on the back of my arms it's out of the way, I'm very clumsy haha.

I'm using Libre Pro and even me too quite not comfortable to carry any device to scan my sensor. I found the solution. I'm using a CGM device Blucon nightrider which transfers libre readings to my phone and watch every 5 minutes. I'm quite satisfied as I missed to scan it or busy somewhere then I don't need to take out my reader and scan the sensor as blucon independently does it. My mother can also follow my readings. It gives me alarm when ever my sugar level is high or low. It's cost effective.

I love my Freestyle Libre! Your video's on youtube are actually what got me interested in trying the Freestyle Libre. I was surprised in the US that you have a 12 hour warm up time... wow that's long. It's a great product though for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics.

I've been using the libre for two months now and find the readings much higher than a finger prick. I compare them often and the libre is higher. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

While the official Freestyle Libre Link app isn't available in North America, there are a bunch of unofficial ones like Glimp and Liamp which do let you sync your sensors with your phone via NFC. I'm just starting to use the system and have no experience with these apps yet, but plan on using Glimp to start.

I liked reading your blog. Thanks for sharing your experience. I liked the way you mentioned likes and dislikes about libre sensor. Anyone would easily decide after reading it whether to go for it or not. If you want to get alarms you can use a CGM device over your libre sensor. I'm using blucon on my sensor and get alarms whenever my glucose level goes high or low. It helped me a lot during sleep. Also, my endo can also see my readings on his laptop. My loved ones are also relaxed as they can also get alarms and readings on their phone. I've the latest version of Blucon which connects direct to my apple watch without phone. To me this is best device for young diabetic children too.

Hey David, I'm also using the same CGM device on my libre sensor. This is really helpful to monitor and to maintain glucose level. Their linkblucon app is the best among other apps. I tried xdrip+ also, but linkblucon has all features on one app. It gives alarm on HI/LO, fast low and fast high, I can share my readings with loved ones, i can add my insulin doze, food i intake, exercise i do and also I can get readings on my apple watch without phone.

I am a patient of type 2 diabetes and using a Libre sensor with Nightrider BluCon to get real-time and continuous glucose monitor. Believe me that there is no better way to track your glucose readings and avoid health risks than BluCon.

I bought Waterproof Nightrider BluCon a couple of months back to see reading on my Apple Watch. A great product to use, and as per me, every diabetic person should have one.

I think FSL is incomplete without a CGM device as people are more happy in getting the readings on phone and watch without scanning the sensor. We can buy the CGM devices as per our choice but it should be worthy to spent money. If I share my experience, I tried many CGM device like Bubble, MM and Blucon. My experience with Blucon was far better among the other too as this is cost effective. Moreover they have a features to activate the libre sensor 1 and pro version and extend the life of the sensor for another 14 days too.

Blucon is actually a life saver device as it helped me a lot when I was on death bead. My endo was able to get alarms and follow my readings. Through my experience he started recommending to his other patients.
