Mr. Glitter Glucose

 This weekend was an amazing experience. Mercedes Benz held a golf tournament in Scottsdale benefitting JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). I know nothing about golf but my husband is a golf addict. Of course I love any opportunity to support JDRF so I asked Kevin if he would play in the tournament. He recruited his friend Byron and they teamed up in the Mercedes Benz Tournament at The Phoenician Resort. For every player JDRF donated $100!!! I found this to be very generous considering the entry fee was only $159. Thank you so much to Mercedes Benz of Scottsdale for donating to such a deserving cause!
As I often volunteer for JDRF, I asked MB if there were any opportunities for me to get involved. They put me at the Hole-in-One as a witness. If someone actually made a hole-in-one, they would win a brand new Mercedes Benz! Unfortunately, no one made it. I was really counting on my husband to win me a new car! After my hole-in-one duties were finished, I drove my golf cart around looking for Kevin. Him and Byron were playing so well!!! I knew there would be a big chance for them to actually win the whole tournament. ​

​I live about 3 minutes away from The Phoenician Resort so I went home for the remainder of the golf game. Kevin text me once he was on the last hole and text me to come back because he had made it to the final competition, The Putting Contest. The pressure was on. IF Kevin and Byron won, they would get an all expense paid 4day/5night trip to San Diego, CA, courtesy of Mercedes Benz. They would then play in another tournament at Torrey Pines for even bigger prizes. Mostly I just wanted my husband to play to benefit JDRF by doing something he loves, plus winning a vacation wouldn’t be so bad either! ALSO I put pressure on him because how could Mr. Glitter Glucose not win a tournament benefitting JDRF!
 
With all that said, Kevin and Byron won the whole thing!!!! We are headed to California in October for the next round of competition! We are so excited!!!! I just want to send a BIG thank you to Mercedes Benz of Scottsdale for generously supporting JDRF! By honoring JDRF with this tournament not only did they contribute financially, but they also helped raise awareness! ​
