If you've been keeping up with me on Instagram, you've seen that I've been traveling all around the United States. I have a roadmap of where I'm headed next, and one certain thing is that I will be spending most of the spring in Arizona. It is my favorite time of the year in the Valley of the Sun. The weather is perfect, so I spend most of my time outdoors.
Some of us may be on Spring Break but as we know, living with diabetes never takes a break. Thankfully I always have my FreeStyle Libre 2 system as my plus one for my adventures. Below are my favorite things about spring and how this season impacts my life as a person living with diabetes.
Favorite things about Spring in Arizona
I live for floral prints, short shorts, and short sleeves! That means my sensor is on full display. But no worries there - it's my best accessory. Small1, discreet*2, and I only need my smartphone to scan and monitor my glucose levels with the FreeStyle Libre 2 app†.
I'm ready for all the spring goodies. Fresh fruits, mimosas, salads, and sandwiches galore. My friends and I love to lay out a blanket and just enjoy the day together. By having my FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with me, I feel confident knowing what my glucose levels are with a new reading every single minute3 while I enjoy all my favorite foods.
I'm not the only one who loves spring. My pets love it too! Warmer weather means we can stay active and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer together. With all the extra activity, I keep my alarms‡ on so I get optional [real-time] high and low glucose alarms on my phone during all the fun we have.
I'm soaking up every minute of warm weather activities that I can get. If you want to join me and try the FreeStyle Libre 2 system, visit https://www.freestyle.abbott/us-en/home.html and talk to your doctor if it’s right for you.
Until next time! Xoxo
